Talon Encounter is the fifth book in Gigi Sedlmayer’s Talon series. For those of us who have followed the series thus far we meet up again with some old familiar friends, particularly Talon and Matica.
Essentially this is a story of good versus evil. The evil is in the form of poachers who want to kill Talon. The good comes in form of the special needs child Matica and other Andean Indians.
One of the things I enjoy about this book and this series is the way the author gives the condors, and other creatures, human-like qualities. It makes them easier to understand and quite easy to feel empathy for.
Some people might think this book is for older children and younger teens, but I think it will hold appeal for anyone of any age. You just need to have a young heart and an open mind.
You will find the author weaves a magic web around the reader and will feel yourself there in the Andean settings and scenery.
I won’t spoil the joy of discovery for you by adding too much detail. I’ll just say I know you will love this story and become entranced by the settings and the people and creatures who inhabit those settings.
I highly recommend this to readers and know you will share my delight in learning more about Matica and the Condors.
