A MIGHTY GOOD REVIEW for TALON, FLIGHT FOR LIFE by Todd Simpson. He said: A VERY SPECIAL BOOK
A wonderfully entertaining story. This is the third book that I’ve read in this series from Gigi Sedlmayer, and I’ve really enjoyed each one of them. Reading about all the different animals, plants and trees in the rainforest has made this such a great story. Like Matica, her brother Aikon also has a way with animals, and he names a chicken Elsa that has taken a shining to him. He tries to teach Elsa the game of hide and seek, like they play with Talon. However, it looks like it may take the chicken a while to catch on. Matica is torn with her emotions, as she would love to travel with her father to Cajamarca and pick up supplies. However, she will miss her condors dearly, and especially her daily flights on the back of Talon. However, after she organises to meet Talon along the way, she is happy to spend the time with her father travelling through the rain forest. As with all young people, Matica is keen to race ahead of her father on their journey to investigate all the amazing sites. She should learn to listen to her father though, as the forrest can be a dangerous place. They come across all sorts of wildlife, and Matica is quite taken with one of the very bold spider monkeys that comes up to investigate them. They experience all sorts or wildlife, from a Tapir, Tucans and even a Puma along the way. Matica is horrified when she realises that Crayn has been bitten by a poisonous spider, and needs to get help for him before he dies. There are so many great things happening in this story, and it has been very well put together. It’s a book for all ages, and it’s certainly worth a read.
